This original poster from our collection will be mounted, designed and cut into a one-of-a-kind PAR for you. Artist Jan WIjga (1902-1978) - Dutch Art Deco painter, designer and illustrator was active in the middle of the 20th century in Holland. Wijga worked extensively with KNILM airways (Royal Dutch Indies Airways) and various brewers, making promotional advertisement posters. Some of Wijga’s maps were made of KNILM’s routes and pathways the airline took throughout their operation. Wijga took advantage of advancements in color printing made before and during World War I and began issuing large format posters like ours here. Wijga became known in the commercial art scene alongside fellow artists at the time such as Otto Arpke, Paul Colin and Albert Solon.
